Foil Supershapes are larger and can be filled with more helium, meaning they will stay inflated for weeks and sometimes even months, albeit a little saggy to touch! Here, we provide an overview of expected float time for the different types of balloons we supply, hopefully this will help you when planning when you need to order and collect your balloons.
For maximum float time we recommend hand-tying balloons. Since latex is a porous material, helium begins to seep out from the moment the balloon is filled. The biggest cause of a bubble balloon deflating prematurely will be because it has not been sealed properly. We have so much experience making these balloons that we can confidently say our personalised confetti gift balloons will float for between 7 to 10 days probably longer.
Similarly, adding tassel garlands and filling balloons with confetti will also reduce float time. Helium molecules slowly escaping from a balloon is the reason that balloons go down eventually. Besides Hi-Float, most balloon attachments will reduce float times due to the additional extra weight.
August 28, 2015 Helium Signature Balloons Share: We hope to shed some light on these aspects for some of our most popular balloons! We recommend inflating latex balloons with helium as close to the event as possible in order for them to look their best throughout.
Hi-Float is a product which can be used to extend float time significantly. You can find out more about it here. Latex confetti balloons without Hi Float have a float time of around 4 to 8 hours so it is best to inflate these as close as possible to the event.
So you are okay to order these balloons to be delivered a couple of days before the event. If you have a lot of balloons to inflate, to save time and fingers you might wish to consider a Balloon Tying Tool.
These balloons are a little harder to stay afloat because of the weight of the confetti and also because using Hi Float in them is not so easy and gives a different end result. Because of this foil balloons have a long float time and can last for 2 to 3 weeks or more. We are often asked about the different float times of our balloons, which is understandably confusing given the range of shapes and sizes available! We strongly recommend practicing with Hi-Float before your event.
This typ e of balloon has an open neck so has to be hand sealed using a stretchy binding. Because of this latex balloons have historically had a fairly short float time, this all changed with the introduction of the amazing Hi Float.
